Alberta Assurance Model
October 8, 2020 10:00 AM PT/1:00 PM ETVIRTUAL EVENTÂ SERIES
In September of 2020, Alberta moved to a new K12 education funding model designed to better meet students’ needs and enhance public trust in education funding. The Assurance Model emphasizes the need for school boards to develop robust community engagement strategies to shape local priorities and initiatives.
Shawn Haggarty, Superintendent at Elk Island Catholic Schools, used ThoughtExchange to put together Assurance-specific resources and templates for his district’s education leaders to leverage in the 2020/2021 school year.
In this special virtual event, he’ll share how ThoughtExchange helped his district hear the diverse voices of all its stakeholders, make data-driven decisions, and be responsive to its students’ evolving needs.
