Dr. Dennis L. Carpenter has worked in the education field for more than two decades, most recently as a superintendent. Some of his many accomplishments include achieving Missouri’s highest annual performance score for improvement in underserved student performance, as well as spearheading the implementation of the equity-focused "Innovation Track Program" which enabled students to earn low or no cost college credits in partnership with the local community college. He has also worked to create a free full day pre-K program, expanded before and after school programs, improved teacher salaries and tripled fundraising efforts for student scholarships and teacher grants. Carpenter is a #TripleEagle, earning his bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, educational specialist and educational doctorate in educational leadership from Georgia Southern, as well as a master’s degree in educational leadership from Augusta State University. Some of his awards include the Georgia Southern Minority Leadership award and the Phi Beta Sigma Educator of the Year award. Dr. Carpenter is married to Dr. LaQuanda Carpenter and they have two young children, Landen Drake and Layla Dee. The family lives in North Augusta, South Carolina.

Adam Phyall is a former high school science teacher and currently serving as the Director of Technology and Media Services for Newton County School System in Covington, GA. Since Adam got his first laptop in college, he has been hooked on the amazing things technology can add. Once Adam saw the impact that technology had on learning in his classroom, he began to share his activities and strategies with his peers. This lead to Dr. Phyall working as a Building Instructional Technology Leader, later as a Technology Facilitator, and now serving as a Director of Technology & Media Services.

Throughout his professional career, Dr.Phyall worked extensively with Title I and Urban schools to improve technology integration with economically disadvantaged students. He has planned and developed Mobile Learning plans for school districts in Georgia and Missouri that have led to 1:1 device initiatives.

Dr. Phyall currently serves as Future Ready Schools Technology Leaders lead advisor, ISTE's Digital Equity professional learning leader, and was recently named one of the top 30 K-12 IT influencers worth following in 2020 EdTEch Magazine.

Kansas City Public Schools Superintendent Mark T. Bedell, Ed.D. is a talented, caring teacher and administrator and one of the top urban public-school leaders in the United States. His working class roots help him understand the significant challenges many students face in their education, and how the support of caring adults can make all the difference to their achievement. His career at KCPS has focused on equity in education, access to college, and putting student achievement at the center of the school system’s work.

Dr. Bedell has been named a “Superintendent to Watch” by the National School Public Relations Association and a “New Superintendent of the Year” by the Missouri Association of School Administrators, and has received a host of other recognitions for his impact on the Kansas City region. But for Dr. Bedell, one of his most important honors came in the spring of 2018 when students from Southeast High School gave him an award of appreciation for his efforts on their behalf and for the positive impact he will have on future students.
